The Oklahoma Mobile Health Screening Unit is a community service project funded jointly by the 246 Oklahoma Lion's Clubs and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. The unit is equipped to provide a variety of screenings - including vision, hearing, glaucoma, blood sugar and blood pressure - in local communities throughout the state.
All screenings offered by the Oklahoma Health Screening Unit are free.
FACTS:
The Oklahoma Mobile Health Screening Unit, colorfully painted with outdoor Oklahoma scenes, began service in May 1998.
Local health care professionals and Lion's Club members staff the unit and perform health screenings.
Local Lion's Clubs schedule visits of the Oklahoma Mobile Health Screening Unit in their communities.
