N. E. LIONS CLUB PUBLICITY UPDATE

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lion Gene Day and his family. Lion Gene’s sister passed away on Sunday, Oct 25th in Pine Bluff Arkansas.

Lion Charlie Taylor and his wife were recently involved in an automobile accident. It was reported that there were no serious injuries. We hope everyone is okay Lion Charlie!

The Lawton Northeast Lions Club celebrated Lions World Service Day by serving cake and ice cream to the senior citizens of the Pleasant Valley Senior Citizens Center on Thursday, October 15th. The event was a complete success, with a very large number of club members showing up and helping out. Immediate Past President, Ron Brown, was the event coordinator and he really did a super job! As always, it was a great day to be a Lion! The Lawton Constitution newspaper ran a small article with headlines about the event. I took many pictures, which will be added to our photo album and will eventually be posted on the web site. I want to mention that our Secretary/Treasurer, PDG Fred Milton, was in the hospital on the 14th, worked all day at Telos on the 15th and then showed up for this event on the evening of the 15th. Lion Fred, your dedication is greatly appreciated by everyone!

Club members will be putting out flags (and picking them up) on Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11th. If you are not currently involved with this activity and you would like to help out, contact the club’s Flag Captain, PDG Fred Milton. Flags are an important and successful club function.

Are you a club member with a computer and access to the Internet? If you check out our official web site, you will notice that a few club members’ names are highlighted in blue. This is because if you click on that name, you can send e-mail to that individual. If you are "on-line" and if you would like to hear from other Lions, simply provide me with your e-mail address. Harold Whitley, Telos Software Engineer and volunteer Webmaster for the club continues to do a wonderful job for us. THANKS HAROLD!
