King Lion George C. Rogers Jr. was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He served 30 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1977 with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. King Lion Rogers completed High School in Memphis, and attended the University of Maryland and Cameron University.
